HGST, Inc. also known as Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, is a company that produces hard disk drives, solid-state drives, and external storage products and services. It was founded on January 6, 2003. They manufacture computer storage devices, including internal and external drives, hard disks, and solid-state drives for use in both computers and mobile devices. In 2012, Western Digital acquired a subsidiary of Hitachi that was formed after Hitachi acquired IBM’s disk drive business.
