Established in San Jose, California back in 1996, Lexar is an acclaimed American manufacturer of digital media products such as SD cards, CompactFlash cards, USB flash drives, card readers, and solid-state drives. For over two decades now its quality products have been helping individuals make the most out of their technology experiences.

In 2006, Lexar became part of Micron Technology after a successful acquisition. Later that year, the company merged with Crucial Technology to form Lexar Media – an independent subsidiary of Micron. In line with this development, 2007 saw them sign a deal with Eastman Kodak Company to design and promote global Kodak-branded flash memory products.

On August 31, 2017, Longsys – a Chinese-based flash memory company – acquired the Lexar brand and trademark rights.
