Winslow Adaptics was founded in 1977. In 1982, the firm relocated from the South East of England to Wales and subsequently to its present location in the Brecon Beacons. By the mid-1980s, Winslow Adaptics was a major supplier of stamped and formed contact IC sockets. It acquired Jermyn Manufacturing in 1982 and continues to manufacture using original designs and tooling that date back to 1965.

The company expanded its product Selection in the early nineties when Marconi contacted it for help with an old PGA device that they wanted to replace with a PLCC that would serve the same purpose.
